Our Story

In the Summer of 2017, when my first child was 7 months old, I left my career in finance and analytics. I was quickly adjusting to motherhood- no sleep, nursing constantly, learning to take care of another human. I and quickly becoming pregnant again, and my anxiety began to soar. I was seeking peace and began to knit, self-taught via YouTube, blogs and online tutorials. Knitting became an integral element in managing my anxiety… along with therapy, medication, and running. Real talk!

Knitting has a way of tapping into the analytical and creative part of my brain like nothing else ever has. I LOVE the textures that emerge, and chose 100% sustainable, natural wool as my medium to indulge in those textures.

Living in Montana, we wear hats most days between October and April, so I was inspired to create a beautiful winter staple. I wanted the knits to be functional, classic, and beautiful. I love to design patterns and create bespoke pieces that can become part of your daily or seasonal uniform. After hundreds (thousands?) of hats, we fell in love with these pattern variations and fibers.

Future thought…

I created Linus Pine | Handmade a month before the global pandemic. Ideally, I would love to teach those who struggle with anxiety and depression to knit the LP hats and add them to the product line.
